Tips for Choosing Outdoor Pots

Unbelievably, there are some people who only ever make use of Outdoor Pots if they wish to have a bit of greenery inside their houses and offices. But if you take some quality time out to really choose out a few great options, your garden may benefit greatly from a fine display of outdoor potted plants too. These provide your patio with an elegant, attractive look. It is ideal for family, friends and guests.

Following are a few tips on how to choose outdoor pots that you can make use of:

Choose garden pots that will highlight the beauty of the plant and not overcome it. The thing is that many people get carried away when it is about choosing the pots they think might look good anywhere. Naturally enough, there aren’t any written laws that say you can’t use pots with intricate carvings, ornate designs or screamingly loud colours and with hefty price tags to boot too. But if you really wish to display off your potted perennials or bonsai tulip poplar tree which you have been carefully taking care of, you might want to select a less decorative container. A fine tip would be to select outdoor pots either in deep earth tone colours or those in the darker hues of green if you wish to put in a few vibrantly coloured foliages.

The same is true if you are planning on potting a few herbs inside your kitchen. Choose the pots that are low and functional enough, so that you can tend to the herbs with as little fussing as possible. The last thing you need is to worry more about the vessel rather than the actual living plant enclosed within.

Drainage is vital for both indoor & outdoor plants. Blooms & evergreens planted directly on a patch of soil have no problem draining off excess water. The soil simply absorbs the water and the sun helps keep off the rest. Plants potted in outdoor pots, on the other hand need some more help.
